Flavio Vivacqua, M.D., is a Brazilian physician and psychiatrist whose work is situated at the intersection of medicine, psychiatry, and consciousness studies.
He received his medical training at the University of Campinas, Brazil, and at Università La Sapienza di Roma, Italy, where his early intellectual formation was shaped by a sustained interest in the relationship between mind, respiration, and the underlying architecture of thought.
During his academic training, he presented the licensure thesis Psiche e respiro: da Gall alla PET, alla ricerca dell’“anatomia” della mente: il pranayama come esercizio logico, an interdisciplinary study examining the relation between psyche, breathing, and pranayama within the broader framework of logic and mental anatomy.
He subsequently specialized in Psychiatry and is a member of the Brazilian Psychiatric Association.
